Comparison
Flare vs TouchdownFX: in-sim or on the web
TouchdownFX shows the touchdown right inside the simulator. Flare debriefs the landing on the web, with numbers and 3D. They are different places for the same job, and you can combine them.
In short: how Flare and TouchdownFX differ
Both tools rate a landing in MSFS 2024 on a 0–100 scale. The difference is where the product lives: TouchdownFX is a panel and replay inside the simulator, while Flare is a debrief on the web plus a client that only records the flight.
What TouchdownFX does
Based on the TouchdownFX public site (verified 3 October 2026): a native MSFS 2024 panel, automatic touchdown detection, a 0–100 score across seven factors, an in-sim replay, online leaderboards, flight upload and a public API. The tool is free and works with MSFS 2024 only.
The strength of TouchdownFX is instant feedback at the moment of touchdown, without switching to a website.
What Flare does
Flare reads a completed MSFS 2024 flight and debriefs the landing: a 0–100 score, touchdown vertical speed, load factor, centreline, bounce, touchdown zone and approach stabilisation. The debrief lives on the web: a 3D replay you can share, friends and comparison on the same runway, clubs and virtual airlines, and an AI debrief of your landing — version 1, by invitation.
The recording channel is the Flare Windows client (read-only SimConnect); the interface is Russian and English.

When Flare is not the best choice
If you want an instant breakdown at the moment of touchdown, inside the simulator, with an in-sim replay and camera presets, that is the strength of TouchdownFX, and it is free.
If you want a single tool without a web account and a second screen, TouchdownFX is simpler.
If you need a public API, TouchdownFX states one (as of 3 October 2026).
Flare is for something else: a debrief on the web, 3D that is easy to share, an AI explanation of your own landing (version 1, by invitation), friends and clubs.
Can you use both together
Yes. The Flare client records the flight in the background while TouchdownFX shows the touchdown in-sim. One tool gives instant feedback, the other gives a debrief and progression on the web.
Which tool fits whom
If seeing the result right away in the sim and avoiding a web panel is what matters, TouchdownFX is enough. If you want to break down the landing by the numbers, share the debrief and compare with friends and clubs, add Flare.
