Flare vs SQWK: two ways to debrief a landing
SQWK Flight Review is a strong FOQA tool for MSFS, with dense telemetry and per-aircraft profiles. Flare debriefs the landing on the web and tracks pilot progression. The emphasis differs, and you can use them together.
In short: how Flare and SQWK differ
Both tools record a flight and score the landing. The difference is emphasis: SQWK goes deep on approach telemetry and per-aircraft scoring; Flare focuses on a clear touchdown debrief, 3D on the web and progress from one landing to the next.
What SQWK Flight Review does
Based on SQWK public site (verified 3 October 2026): an exporter records the flight at 30 Hz, with hundreds of metrics, per-aircraft profiles (125+ on the site on the verification date), metric-based scoring, a 3D approach view, public links, leaderboards and medals. It is an airline-grade approach to a flight debrief.
SQWK supports MSFS 2024 and 2020; the interface is English and Simplified Chinese, with Russian listed as planned in its changelog (as of 3 October 2026).
What Flare does
Flare reads a completed MSFS 2024 flight and debriefs the landing: a 0–100 score, touchdown vertical speed, load factor, centreline, bounce, touchdown zone and approach stabilisation. The debrief lives on the web: a 3D replay you can share, comparison with friends and clubs, and an AI debrief of your landing — version 1, by invitation.
The recording channel is the Flare Windows client (read-only SimConnect). Flare supports MSFS 2024 only.
Feature-by-feature comparison
The table below is about the purpose of each tool, not about who is better. Pricing is not compared here; see each product site for current plans.

When Flare is not the best choice
If you need the densest possible telemetry for the whole flight (30 Hz) and scoring against per-aircraft profiles, SQWK goes deeper here.
If you want the debrief and instant feedback inside the simulator, rich file exports and a built-in 3D approach view, look at SQWK as well: with Flare the product lives on the web and the client only records.
If you fly MSFS 2020, Flare is not for you: it supports MSFS 2024 only.
Conversely, if you want a Russian-language interface today, a landing debrief on the web, 3D that is easy to share, and an AI explanation of your own landing, that is what Flare does.
Can you use both together
Yes. SQWK is strong on dense telemetry and per-aircraft profiles, Flare is strong on the web debrief, 3D and progression. Many pilots debrief in SQWK and add a clear Flare debrief and progression on top.
Which tool fits whom
If you want airline-grade depth in metrics and per-aircraft profiles, SQWK is enough. If you want to understand what exactly to improve in the touchdown, see the debrief on the web and share it, add Flare.
FAQ
Does Flare replace SQWK Flight Review?
No. SQWK is strong on dense telemetry and per-aircraft profiles, Flare is strong on the web debrief, 3D and pilot progression. They can work together.
Does Flare have 30 Hz telemetry?
No. Flare records adaptively: about 1 Hz in cruise and 10 Hz in the touchdown window. If you need full-flight telemetry at 30 Hz, choose SQWK.
Does Flare work with MSFS 2020?
No, Flare supports MSFS 2024 only.
Is the Flare AI debrief available to everyone?
The AI debrief is version 1 and available by invitation. The 0–100 score and FOQA metrics are available without it.
Do you compare prices?
No. See the SQWK site for its plans; this page compares capability, not cost. SQWK details are from its public site on 3 October 2026 — check the current state before deciding.
Ready to debrief your landing?
Flare reads a completed MSFS 2024 flight and shows a 0–100 score with a touchdown breakdown.
